Odette Talbot [X-Men OC]

So, not going to lie, I've always loved X-Men, Marvel in general, and I just couldn't help myself by making a character. I'm not the best at art, but I still wanted to share it.

She is honestly based off of Toad. Why?

Because his past is all kinds of messed up (depending on the version, but let's be for real, none of them are pretty). Like, if you get to thinking, it's shocking he's still going. So I got to thinking on if his past showed in different ways, then got to thinking if it was worse - coming up with details.

By that point I came up with my own OC: Odette Talbot! My baby that I have tortured and given her past a house of horrors I wouldn't even wish on my worst enemy.

Born with her mutation in England, thus being thought she was disfigured, she was taken by a doctor who conducted experiments on her. However she didn't have what the doctor wanted and gave her up to an orphanage.

The matron and workers all found her to be ugly, the children as well, abusing her. The workers thought her to be stupid as well, and saying that she had nothing good going for her and wanting her out, they decided that the only saving grace she could have was being the perfect lady.

From being tied to a chair, beaten, whipped, cut, burned, and forced to do things until she passed out or bleed out, and so much more, they turned Odette into a proper English lady. Her curtsy is a work of art that any Queen would weep in envy and pride over, her dancing is out of this world, she makes pouring tea into art, and always stands perfectly straight and sits proper.

When older she was in a lynching, almost dying, if not for Magneto saving her and taking her under his wing.

However she also is so scared of even showing any part of her body, thinking showing her face means pain and death with how she grew up, and has zero self-confidence, esteem, and image. You tell her she's pretty and she thinks you're lying but being nice about it. Anxious, paranoid, fearful, has multiple phobias, and tormented by her past and her own mind/demons.

She has a permeant stutter that she can't control, her voice whispery soft. Naturally with being born into England, she has a British accent. Due to Magneto saving her, she is deeply loyal to him beyond anything else. Seeing him as a father figure in a way. With the rest of the Brotherhood, she unknowingly does the whole 'kills them with kindness' thing.

The X-Men are confused by her because she's....nice. Kind. Sweet. Apologizes every time she harms one of them in a fight. The heck??? No one knows how to handle a kind, sweet, shy, flustered Brotherhood member. They're used to the insane, horrible ones.

Because she is based on Toad, she can do things he can, but I changed it up and added to her. I didn't make her all powerful, but in short I gave her abilities based on lizards and amphibians. An example; she has webbed hands and feet, pockets of poisonous and toxic tissues all over her body (looks like warts but they're not), and has natural camo like a wild animal would. All poisonous and toxic animals have bright colors on them, warning predators if they try anything they'll die doing it (like eating them), and that is scattered around her body.

Covered from head to toe, she never shows anything but her nose, mouth and chin. She always has on a tight bodysuit/shirt/leggings under her baggy sweater and long skirt. Always has on gloves. Her bangs are like a thick curtain that don't move easily. Even when sleeping she has on a long nightgown, long socks, and gloves. Let it be said she doesn't like mirrors either. You could count on one hand how many people even know what Odette's face looks like. And if someone sees her face? Instant panic attack and meltdown.

She can shoot out her tongue like a whip, up to 20ft, it can stick as well. She can store and spit out poisons and toxins up to 10-20ft. She can stick to any surface and walk/climb it. Gills are on her neck and her sides, where her ribs are, giving her the ability to breath underwater. Her legs are very strong, she can jump/leap high distances and could kick a semitruck. She's very smart, however she doesn't think herself to be.

Due to her traumas, her mind is actually naturally blocked from mind readers. It's like she has mental walls so strong out of survival, or that her thoughts and feelings are so silent inside of her, from fear and the pain, that there is nothing that could be heard. Doesn't mean she can't be harmed through mental attacks, just can't read her or her emotions.

Weak against the cold, and if gets cold enough Odette will go into a hibernation, almost a death-like state where her heart and everything slows down to the point it's like she's dead to conserve heat and warmth, and would need to get warm to get out of it.

Her own mental state is her biggest weakness however.

Also, side note, I tend to pair her up with Kurt Wagner (Nightcrawler) in my head. I wish I could write those imagines and scenarios others could on here or send Odette to them and beg for them to do some for her and Kurt! Like inside of 'reader', you use your 'OC'. But I fear I'd be too obsessed for anyone to handle lol. Anyways, sorry for rambling!

Sumi Guide

She's based off an Ink Cap mushroom!

She's physically frail. As a matter of fact, she got into making medicine because she's always had a weak immune system and wanted to do something to ease the financial burden on her parents her medical care was causing. And now she's a prodigy when it comes to healing. As a matter of fact, she's one of the very few medics who's knowledgeable in treating species classified as undead like Boos, Shadows, and Dry Bones.
